comme vous devez le savoir, l'appelation d'oran c'est wahran en dialecte et en arabe littéraire wihrane et wihrane veut deux lions et non trois ou plus. et donc devant l'entrée de l'hotel de ville sont érigés deux lions en bronze et ce du temps de la france.

I am intrested to receive information on the "old" synagogue of Oran. In our family it is said that my grand- Grand father who came to Palestine in 1840 was one of the founders of the "old" synagogue and his name appears on a marble plate.
My Grand- Grand father name was Abraham Chelouche.
If anybody knows anything about it, please answer me. I am also intrested to have a photigraph of the synagogue and the marble plate.
